pouring rain.

it rains, it pours
lights flicker
my tired roof sieves water through its cracks
the sun slips into the background
the skies are way too dark
but the only thing i can think about is you.

it rains, it pours
home alone
my mind's eye runs wild
i'm in crowded solitude
the water from my roof has filled up the floor
it's getting too flooded
this mop can do no more good
but the only thing I can think about is you.

it's rained, it's poured
the mop has served its purpose but it has come to the end of its use
the splashes have turned into pitters and patters
the lights are back on
the lawn is drenched
the roof is still sieving
but the only thing i can truly think about is you.
