Your response has had me thinking all day.

I totally agree that government provides the venue in which all this happens but I guess I was wondering if it is also the impetus for people’s choice of career. The government juggernaut seems to be the golden ticket to people getting wealth, either directly or indirectly.

Take lawyers, for example. They may not work for the government directly but they make their money interpreting the law for the layman, laws that are upheld by governmental agencies. Perhaps the same could be said for social workers and doctors. And all these people have probably taken out huge loans to pay for the “expertise” that they charge everyone else an arm and a leg for.

I don’t know. I’m still ruminating. You’ve given me much to contemplate, as always!
