When the soldiers hear the call,
and their mamas say goodbye,
Questions arise, “will my young boy fall?”
“Why did they send him to die?”
From the politicians’ mouths, they cry,
“For God and country”
And the men, young and brawny, are sent to die
Arriving in the desert, the mission to defend industry
With rifles drawn, villages meet the slaughter
The children say goodbye
Questions arise, “why my son, why my daughter?”
There in the desert sands children die
For when the news breaks,
exposing the great American lie
the deadpan-faced snakes,
will shed a tear when stakes are high
A new president takes office, one of hope
“On terrorism, I call war!”
To another country, the parents mourn and cope
For what’s one more, what’s one war more?
