Series on Truth

It seems to be very true — truth is mixed in with a lot of noise. It seems nobody cares about truth, not only because in order to reach to it one gotta get through this overwhelming, maddening noise, but mostly because the majority of lives lived on earth (ca. 99.9%) are livable without the need to be exposed to the ‘fountain of pure truth.’ People find (in fact, quite often — just ‘intuit’ it, using tested evolutionary brain mechanisms, such as instincts, drives) ‘some elements of truth’ would satisfactory do for them. You don’t need pure oxigen to keep yourself alive.

Although truth is hard to come by, it’s a questionable commodity. Almost no value, because it’s in ‘open source domain’. Long, winding road to go, no tangible reward — why to worry. And ‘pure truth’ must be very simple, no richness, no ‘share-worthy content.’

So, the ‘pire truth’ is not in use. It is not unlikely a sort of grey, dull stone — ballast for many, and, in few exceptions — just a tool for sharpening the philosophers’ minds.

Humanity invented a ton of ways to pack up the known or imaginable facts, factoids, ideas — whatever it has in its disposal at the moment — into the ‘surrogate truths’, and sell the resulting product at profit.

Which is fine. Those who in the know stopped worrying about this long time ago. Those, I mean, who are already past their individual existential crises. Those who tried — and, presumably, failed. Those who, hopefully, learned from it. Those, who have come to terms with one particular truth — the absolute truth is unachievable.

Or, as it may seem..
