Cleaning for a Cause: How to Do Good and Declutter

As a parent, I want my children to understand how fortunate they are. At one and three years old though, they probably aren’t going to be volunteering at a soup kitchen any time soon. What they can do, however (well, at least the three year old) is help me sort through the items they’ve outgrown, and get a sense of who those items can help. Cradles to Crayons goes one step further, allowing children to come its facility and sort through donated items to put together care packages requested by those in need. Their mission is to provide children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive — at home, at school, and at play.
