Inspired By: Picasso’s Blue Period
The shades of blue in the new Classic Specs collection have us thinking of one of Pablo Picasso’s most famous — although tragic — periods of his work. During his Blue Period of 1901 to 1904, Picasso painted exclusively monochromatic paintings in shades of blue and blue-green, thought to have been influenced by a journey through the city of Spain during a period of depression. These cathartic images, although some of the most somber images of his work, are now some of Picasso’s most popular works to date.
