“We overestimate what we can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in 5.”
I still remember standing on stage and repeating those words. It was at the end of a very successful Dream Nation event and in all honesty, I had felt like I had made it. That was nearly 5 years ago and I could have never have predicted what would have happened next.
My company multiplied, we reached the height of popularity & hype and then… I let my life unravel and I watched as everything I had built slowly fell apart. Trust me, painful doesn’t even begin to describe what that season was like, but that’s a story for another day (I know I keep teasing too, but I promise I’ll share the whole story soon 😇).
I’ve always believed that as long as you’ve learnt a lesson than you didn’t actually fail. But, this idea is a lot easier to hold onto when you’re not sweeping up the ashes of your former empire. Yet, it’s still true.
I’m on another side of that experience now and getting ready to share what I’ve been building, so now I can say with 100% confidence that as painful as it was, the process that got me here was worth it.
I know you might not be where you thought you’d be. Progress has been slow, people aren’t supporting the way you thought they would and the money… lets not even get started on that 😂. However, let me encourage to Trust The Process.
There are lessons you still need to learn, relationships you need to build and a version of yourself that you still need to become. All of these things take time. You can’t afford to rush this, otherwise, what you’re fighting for won’t last once you get it.
Stay patient. Stay focused on the big picture. Stay faithful to your goal. Above all keep on trusting the process.
You got this.
