How long have you been at Eco-Systm? Tell us about the previous spaces you’ve worked in and how coworking has evolved changed over the years.
I’ve been at Eco-Systm for close to 2 years, since August of 2017. I started coworking — and have been continuously coworking — since January 2009, back when the San Francisco Coworking wiki had just a handful of locations on it. I previously worked at Citizen Space and also Next Space, both on 2nd Street. The ubiquity and mainstreaming of coworking is the most obvious change that I have seen in the past 10 years.

Meet Sydney & Sarah! They are summer interns for IGEL and they’ve given a little insight on their intern experience at a coworking space!

Tell us about your current occupation and how you got there.

I interned at a start-up in Mountain View last summer and knew that I wanted to work in Silicon Valley again, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with IGEL.

Sarah: I am…

Interview with Rachel Davis (Associate Director at Center for Health Care Strategies)

Meet Rachel! She is the associate director for program innovation at Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS), a non-profit that helps state and the federal government, hospitals and health insurance companies think about how to design policies and programs for people on Medicaid. With a master’s degree in public policy from NYU, Rachel has used her thinking, “to design services specifically for complex populations (i.e. those with physical, mental health, addiction, and social challenges such as homelessness).” Previously, she worked as a case manager for people living with HIV/AIDS and found herself thinking about problem solving at a system level.
