First Day on the Job
I spent my Friday afternoon/night at my job orientation this past Friday. Seeing as this is my first job, I thought orientation would be mostly hands-on training, but boy was I wrong. From 3:30pm to 9:30pm, I was stuck in a room watching movies and reading a 60 page book. First, I was told to fill out about ten pages of paperwork. After I finished the paperwork, my co-workers and I read about the rules and regulations of the store. The book was full of pointless information that no one really needed to know. Did I mention that the supervisor read the book out loud, which took about 4 hours? When we finished reading the book, we had to watch a couple of cheesy movies about the history of the store. The sad part is that we were only given three 10-minute breaks for the whole six hours we were there. I can honestly say that this was the most boring experience of my life.
