Dirt into Soil

She talks real loud
and she spills it out, then
leaves the glass half empty.

He listens as always
he soaks it all up, then
fills the glass to the brim.

She knocks on the door
after having already invited herself in,
somehow calls herself a guest.

He hears the sound of hollow wood,
wanting a moment of silence
invites himself outside,
with him everything he soaked up pours it out to the dirt and leaves the glass empty

turning dirt into soil
soil into life
gathering his things
gone with no goodbye

Wasted time on a canvas or two I knew wouldn't turn out. Now, finally painting the picture I never got around to.
