CONSISTENCY …. WELCOME TO THE JOURNEY

Here we are. April 4th. This is the day that I begin my training. I´ve had knee injury twice (my fault….not rugby´s fault). I always wanted to achieve great things in sport but I never did put the effort in a consistent way. Which has led to these injuries. I´ll talk about them in an another article.

So why am I writing here about it? Well I have new objectives. I want to be an Ironman. Well first I want to complete a triathlon… no first I want to implement the right habits and routine in order to be able to complete my objectives and to be in the shape of my life... Well no first I just want to do sports regularly….I´ve been reading so much about training, meditation, the right emotional balance, gratitude. Reading is good though…. implementing is much better.

Implementation and consistency isn´t my strong suit… for now. I believe that being accountable is something important in every aspect of life, it´s a fuel for consistency. So basically I put myself out there. My audience (not this big) will see my journey and I can´t cheat, I must do every single day in order to be ready.

It´s a bit frightening to be honest. Afraid to be judged or laughed. But what the heck… There are haters, there will be and always but I´ll focus on positive feedbacks, comments and I´ll be grateful to have people following this journey. And prove to people that hate or doubt that I can accomplish it. That always will be the best response.

I´ve always been curious and I know what I must do, change in order to be able to reach my goals in life. In every aspect I know what must be implemented in order to put the needle closer to reaching my objectives and my full potential. And I often said with certitude that I will do that and that but then time flies and nothing changed, or not enough. Step by step I´ll explain a bit more about my vision, my habits and I´ll try to post daily something and share my perspective but more importantly share my hustle and progress. That´s how I feel I can achieve it. Be accountable to a community. Discipline myself at first so that it can become a habit, or habits.

I want to prove to myself that I can do it, I know I have potential and I don´t want to lose more time and I want to live up to that potential. As Larry Bird said : “ I´ve got a theory that if you give 100% all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end”. So let´s follow this principle.

This is a very personal thing. I´ve been inspired by many people in different domain in internet, watching YouTube videos. I´m inspired by friends that are really putting the efforts. I´m thinking of one of my best friend Nicolas Esling who found his passion, hustled his way into it and now he´s training for triathlon and full of great projects and owner of his own retail store Endurance Shop in Paris. Another friend that has inspired me in Alexandre Boucheix. In 14 months he´s been from no runner to double marathon finisher with a great performance last Sunday in Paris. I can´t talk about inspiration without talking about my rugby mate Guillaume Pellan. In June 2014 he ran a half-marathon in London and collapsed due to lack of hydratation and was in coma. Lost a lot of muscle and kilos… But his strongest muscle, his brain and fortitude was even better and he came back and completed the London marathon less than a year after. That´s inspiring.

Another inspiration my girlfriend, Veronica. She did put the effort and the discipline to achieve her objectives in this area. She´s tired of me not doing enough of it in the sport area. So if there is one person that I need to be accountable to and “cumplir mi promesa” it´s for her.

So what´s my excuse…. I have none. I want to be able to put the same hustle I´m putting in my professional life in my health and my dreams in this area. And I believe it will make me better also in my personal and profesional life. Welcome to this journey with me. I´m looking forward to read your comments and be faithful to my words.

Thanks everyone.
