Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time researching the careers of some of the most successful women in music, in order to share their stories on Hot Girls. From soul icons who’ve defied time like Erykah Badu and Sade Adu, to rap’s most famous trail blazers: Ms Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, as well as current forces Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, I wanted to understand how, in an industry dominated by men, these women had grasped the lessons necessary to hit it big and build careers of infamy. …

Over the past few weeks I’ve had a few personal changes which have led to me feeling extremely stressed and anxious. These included: leaving my flat in London and moving temporarily to my parents’ in the countryside, the rekindling of a (London based) romance which rolled immediately into a long-distance jumbled space, trying to maintain the success of a Podcast and juggling multiple work commitments during a Global restructure which has stretched and stretched and stretched.

I knew I needed to move beyond the stress in order to not mess things up, but knowing that only made me feel stressed…

I truly believe that life is too precious to have regrets.

I also believe you can only really live without regrets if you’re active in the decisions you make. If you know consciously, in the present, why you are making a decision, then in the future you will also know why you made that decision.

To live without regrets you need to live actively rather than passively. You need to make sure your life happens for you, not to you. …

It’s very possible you have clicked on this but you don’t know much about who Megan Thee Stallion is, so I’m going to start there.

Megan Thee Stallion is a rapper from Houston and Savage is one of her songs which is currently in the Top 5 in the UK, the US and Australia. If you did already know that, and you know that I have a podcast called “Hot Girls” maybe it would be no big surprise that I’m a fan of Megan Thee Stallion. …

For many of us over the past few weeks, we’ve suddenly had a lot more of something there never usually seems to be enough of: time.

Usually time feels like a scarce resource that we have to carve up between work, friends and family. Now all of a sudden we’ve been given some of this back in a circumstance most of us have never experienced before. …

When seeing people isn’t an option…

Whoever you are and whatever your lifestyle, I bet that at some point you’ve experienced loneliness. If you haven’t before, with the impact of COVID-19 forcing people into self-isolation, it may be something you all of a sudden are having to face.

Loneliness is something I’ve often witnessed affecting the lives of people I care about, as well as something I’ve felt myself. It’s an unpleasant feeling, and one that can be hard to articulate or get to the core of.

While it may have been triggered by the forced isolation, you can be…

And the things I’ve learnt so far…

Having been both writing and DJing for a while, a Podcast was one of those things that felt like a very natural next step. The thing that put me off, was the amount of work involved. Not because I’m lazy, but because I have a tendency to take on too much and I didn’t want to create one until I was ready to go all in. Ready to create something I could stand behind.

And boy, does it take up a lot of time! It’s been three months in the planning stage, before…

In the wake of the death of British TV Presenter, Caroline Flack, I wonder when we will start treating each other like human beings.

I’m not someone who closely follows the news, or Celebrity culture, but yesterday I was told the news about Caroline Flack.

The successful British TV Presenter had been found dead in her London home. A few hours after the news broke her lawyer confirmed the cause of death was suicide.

Caroline Flack first became a household name ten years ago, as one of the Presenters of The X Factor and has been a mainstay on ITV…

TikTok is big. In 2019, the video sharing app TikTok, overtook Twitter and Snap to become one of the most popular social media platforms in the world.

With 500 million active users, each spending an average of 52minutes a day on the platform [source], it’s firmly found a place in the lives of its users. The app has managed to combine the interactive nature of Instagram, with the entertainment pull of YouTube.

Facebook saw it coming. They’ve been trying to encourage more videos on Instagram for at least five years, and while they succeeded with stories, video sharing in-feed never…

Two women celebrate their 70th Birthday. They both feel very different about this milestone. One knows that her best days are behind her and that life is drawing to a close. After being alive for seven decades, her body is starting to break down and she needs to prepare for her final few, restful, years.

The other woman figures that what a person is actually capable of, at any age, depends much more on her beliefs and she believes there’s more fuel in the tank. She’s always been interested in mountaineering and decides, if not now then when?! …
