Miley Cyrus has come a very long way, from being a Disney star as Hannah Montana to her infamous twerking at the VMA’s to the release of her newest album “Younger Now”. One of her most recent music videos is for her song “Malibu” which is one of her hit songs off of her new album. In comparison to Cyrus’s music video for her song “Wrecking Ball”, she did a complete 360 for the best. In her “Wrecking Ball” music video she is sitting on a wrecking ball in underwear and a crop top, with very short hair and a full face of makeup. Her music video for “Malibu” has a very fresh feel to it and seems very natural. For most of the video she doesn’t have makeup on, and when she does it is very minimal. The setting for the music video switches between the beach, a water fall, and just a grassy field. The song is essentially about Liam Hemsworth. One line from the song says “I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song. But here I am, next to you. The sky’s more blue in Malibu. Next to you in Malibu”. She never thought that her and Liam would get back together, hence the writing of “Wrecking Ball” which came out approximately four years ago. But here she is today, happier than ever and back with Liam. Her happiness truly shows in the “Malibu” video, everything seems very natural and she seems very content with her life. The entire music video is very upbeat and happy. She isn’t afraid to show her true self in the music video between not wearing much makeup, letting her hair down and not having it done, and just dancing and having fun. Overall it is really great to see Miley so happy and doing what she loves with the person she loves.
