My big question is, Why do people feel so opinionated to life situations that don’t apply to their own? This of course goes for all instances including racial discrimination, sexism, homophobia, and other issues, etc.

When I asked this question I was coming from one side. But what about the people that get discriminated on? Here is a TED talk titled, “The Danger of Hiding Who You Are” by Morgana Bailey. In this ten minute video, Morgana goes over the fact that she has been hiding that she was a lesbian for about 16 years just because she was afraid of the harsh judgement in the world. She did not want to be looked at differently by everyone she knew or passed by. Morgana even struggled with saying those four words to herself.

This TED talk caught my attention not only by the heading but the fact that Morgana not only admitted to herself that she was a lesbian but to a room full of strangers. We shouldn’t have to live in a world of fear because others’ opinions of us are not ideal. We all want one thing and that is happiness in whatever path our life takes us.
