Clear skies

Forgot to write yesterday, so today will have to be a double post.

The sun is out, and it’s after 7pm. Summer is here. The weather is warm and the skies are clear.

It’s interesting how people seem friendlier when the weather is nicer. In an Uber today, my fellow passengers were extremely well-behaved and polite. Yes, it could just be a coincidence, but I’d like to think the nice weather had something to do with it.

Back at Stanford, during the intense California drought, the administration turned off the fountains. Again, this could just be a coincidence, but I feel the campus climate at that time started to turn hostile. When the fountains were turned back on, I got the sense that people were happier and enjoyed life more.

Hopefully the rain will stay away until later this year.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
