Daily writing

Earlier today, as I avoided listening to something happening around me, I read this article:

And it resonated with me, of course, because I’ve been using Medium to write daily. (I just paid for my membership to Medium, but you could use a basic text editor, too.)

I write every day. Some days, when I can’t seem to place my motivation, I’ll write a super short snippet or post an image from my life. But apart from one week when I was traveling, I’ve posted every day since last September. I don’t plan ahead, and I don’t edit much, because I’m usually too lazy. But I always get a post out.

I think it’s helping my writing, but it’s hard to say. Some days, I crank out posts that I’m proud of; other days, not so much. If I took a step back and pushed for quality over quantity, my writing may show noticeable improvement. But there’s something comforting about the ritual of writing every day. So I’ll probably continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Bear with me.
