Distance is a number

I flew home today to surprise my mom for her birthday. After a perilous landing at the airport, I managed to make it home safe. And by home, I mean home-home: my childhood home.

Even though I’m in the middle of a lot of things: moving, work stuff, vacation planning, and others, I was more than happy to spend about 12 hours of travel time to/from home to spend time with family.

Because of the recent hurricane, I was debating whether to fly or not. But it was a simple choice. If I have an opportunity to travel, I will do so, always. Distance is just a number. I can always make time for family and travel. More broadly, I always make time for what matters to me.
