Ease the edge

I bought a new phone today. Instead of waiting for the iPhone X to come out, I went ahead and settled for an iPhone 8 plus on the upgrade program.

For as long as I’ve had a smartphone, I’ve always gone for the bleeding edge. I wanted the latest and greatest, even if the device had crucial flaws or was unproven. I just wanted the newest, shiniest thing.

Now that technology has advanced to where it is now, there’s no longer a need to push the boundary of innovation. iPhones are all more or less the same in software, and they all cost more or less the same.

The iPhone 8 is a fantastic piece of technology and will serve me well. I’ve finally learned what it’s like to stop chasing the edge, even if only for a bit.
