Why We Crave So Much More From Our Jobs Today

It’s quite obvious to see that times are changing. People are making money in ways most others didn’t even know existed. We aren’t swayed as much by an increase in salary as much as past generations because we would rather have that work/life balance.

We crave freedom and autonomy from our jobs. Today’s quote is amazing and something I can agree with 100%.

In the past, most of us were content to have a job that simply paid the bills. But now, we crave so much more in our work. We want fulfillment, creative challenge, growth, joy and a sense that we are living for something more than ourselves. In a word, we week meaning. One of the best ways to find the higher meaning in the work you do is to use the technique of creative questioning to become aware of the impact your work has on the world around you. Ask yourself questions like, Who ultimately benefits form the products and services my company offers? or What difference do my daily efforts make? Once you do so, you will start noticing the connecting between the work you do and the lives you touch. This will inspire you.- Robin Sharma -

Thoughts: This whole statement just explains my life so well right now. I constantly found myself working jobs I didn’t love selling products or services I wasn’t passionate about. Ultimately I wasn’t making as big of an impact as I wanted.

I never want just an ordinary paycheque. I want a life and business I am passionate about that is bigger than myself. I’m proud to say this with what we are building at Influencive. It’s bigger than Brian or myself and we want to impact as many lives as possible.

The thought of creative questioning is a great tip and something I’m going to look to apply more into my life.
