I’ve mainly written this for my son to use while playing Jurassic Park Builder. There are other guides but the ads sometimes get in the way, and don’t offer much in the way of strategy advice. They’re also a bit rubbish on mobile.

Every weekend the makers of the game host a DNA tournament where you can win the DNA for a new animal. If it happens to be an animal you don’t have, you’ve got to go for it, especially as tournaments are your main way of earning bucks, too.

Tournament strategy

When it comes to choosing your dinosaurs for the tournaments, it goes without saying you should choose your nine strongest to form what we call your squad. You might get away with weaker animals in the earlier leagues but as you progress, you’ll need to up your game. Note that in the aquatic and glacier parks you might be able to build two squads, as they have a lot more top-level animals.

Having chosen your strongest nine-animal squad, we’ve had most success with three balanced teams containing two animals with lots of life and one animal with lots of attack. The role of the first two animals is to soak up the hits and try and get the opponent to use up all of their blocks before reaching that third animal. That means these first two need lots of life and the best hit possible, while still saving the best hitting animal for last. By forcing the opponent to use up all their blocks, your final big-hitting animal should be able to smash through the other team using your specials (although they’re often not needed). We also save our own blocks for our last animal, too, so we get the maximum possible number of strikes with our biggest hitter.

All that said, we’re currently experimenting with deliberately losing the tournament fights with the Jurassic Park animals. By remaining in the Gold level tournament and losing until we get lucky with the DNA, we should average 24 bucks per piece of DNA - then we can just use the other two parks to farm the bucks.

More coming soon…
