November 27th Weekly Terracoin Update — Turkey

Turkey Day

Tomorrow is Turkey Day for me, so I am sending out the Weekly Update a day early.

I also will be keeping it short* as I still have supplies to buy for tomorrow, and during this season it is always mellow for the Terracoin crew as we go about our holiday schedules.

I did want to talk about a few other non-food related turkeys that I have been thinking about regarding the whole crypto sphere though.

Bitcoin

We are in one of those semi-yearly massive fluctuations of Bitcoin where the price is flopping around all over the place.

I try to keep abreast of as much of the cryptonews as I can, which means that I read a lot of “news” pieces about people saying they know the next price of Bitcoin.

From what I have discovered is that none of those people know anything about how or why the price of Bitcoin changes.

I seriously believe that no one who is talking really has a reliable prediction.

Which is why investors are starting to love Bitcoin, and why Bitcoin is unusable as money.

Money needs to be reliable and not just a money-making investment scheme for big banks.

So, when people are telling you to buy or sell Bitcoin take their advice with a grain of salt.

UpBit/KYC

Speaking of which, UpBit was hacked, and many people are suggesting that is another reason for the Bitcoin price to whatever. Ignore them.

But this brings up a different conversation about Know Your Customer (KYC).

I get KYC, but with the regular hacks of cryptocurrency exchanges and fiat financial institutions it makes it even more sketchy to use KYC.

To clarify, I understand that governments don’t want drug dealers and terrorists to launder their money, but I also know I don’t want my whole identity to be sold on the dark web.

I think regulations of cryptocurrencies are good, but I also think we need better regulations and oversight of fiat financial institutions.

We are hitting a time when all these things are going to come together, and it will be out with the old and in with the new.

I am looking forward to that time!
