As a Lebanese in her late 30s, I relate to most of the stuff in your article, especially our plastic, mind-numbing mainstream media. The uniqueness of Mashrou’ Leila in that ocean of sexism, homophobia & racism made me admit to being an Arab-something I’ve always been ashamed of and a nationality I’ve always been eager to discard.
