A split personality or two-faced politics?
Putin’s press secretary, Dmitriy Peskov, has been acting rather strangely lately. While on Russian propaganda federal TV channels he tells how the war, that he calls a “special military operation”, is going according to plan, all goals are being achieved, losses are minimal, but in interviews with the Western Media we hear quite the opposite. And even if you look at his general appearance, you can see he appears to be lost and somehow frightened. Today, on April 7th in his interview with Sky News he told
“We have…we have…significant losses of troops, and it's… it’s…it’s a huge tragedy for us…”
The obvious question arises whether he is expressing the opinion of President Putin or somehow preparing a “Plan B” for himself in case Vladimir Putin is thrown out of power. It has been rumored for a long time that an opposition lobby has been forming around Vladimir Putin, consisting of the oligarchs under sanctions and the high-ranking law enforcement officers who do not want any further escalation and losing of their money and power.

At the same time, Mr. Peskov, as a key public figure in Russian politics, will play a key role in this battle. Based on the latest differences in his interviews with various foreign publications, we can conclude that he is drifting away from Putin’s dictatorial method of rule and is more inclined towards “moderate opposition” in the presidential entourage. Vladimir Putin receives daily reports of the foreign media, but these are prepared by Peskov’s department, which allows him to manipulate the facts as he wants. Just like the majority of Russians, they receive all the information from TV and radio, and now even if they have access to the Internet, they cannot access any oppositional resources.

Currently, Mr. Peskov is in a risk-free game, but we all know that nothing stays buried forever, which means that we’ll have to choose a side no matter what. We keep following the butcher’s inner circle and will report the latest news straight from there. Because everyone knows the way that every dictator eventually ends up, it’ only a matter of time
Update:
We received conformation of information above:
A telegram channel with over a million subscribers, Readovka, which supports the “special operation,” announced that it was stopping quoting the opinion of Kremlin speaker Dmitry Peskov.
The reason — Peskov’s statements, which cause “betrayal” among supporters of waging war against Ukraine.
“From his mouth there were calls to continue negotiations in Istanbul against the background of the execution of Russian prisoners of war near Kiev, he called Urgant and Sobchak who left the country back in February patriots, there were other questionable statements.
Today, in an interview with Britain’s Sky News, Dmitriy told the world about the Russian army’s significant losses, called Mariupol part of the LNR, and once again expressed his hope for the renewal of the negotiation process with Ukraine,” Readovka recounted his claims.
This is not the first such complaint against main Putin’s speaker. Earlier, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, entered into an absentee polemic with him and spoke out against negotiations with Ukraine and a retreat from Kyiv. Peskov responded by saying that Russia does not need “Stalingrad” and negotiations should continue.
Later, Peskov said that Putin decided to withdraw troops from Kyiv. However, judging by Readovka’s reaction, this attempt to calm the temper of the “war party” was unsuccessful.
