The Road to Designing…
Every since I could remember I always had great eye for beautiful people, cool cars, amazing buildings and the hippest fashion. I can’t explain it but I just have a knack for aesthetically pleasing things. Never in a million years could I dream of ever creating anything that people could enjoy. I’ve never seen myself as a creative. That was until I started the Interactive Design Specialization. The reason why I wanted to be creative was because I wanted to improve the world around me on macro level. The best way I feel that I can achieve this goal is with technology. And what better way can you do with mimi computers many people carry with them every moment of the day? Considering myself an iPhone power user I believe that I have a great understanding of app and what people want. I often say to myself “this app should have this feature, it should do this or wouldn’t it be nice if”. Along with my aesthetic, and my background in Anthropology and Social Work I will that I have many of the tools to be great UX/UI designer.
Doing this Specialization has been fun, challenging , informative, rewarding, and frustrating all at the same time. I am so proud of the work I’ve done and really looking forward to creating a portfolio.
This Specialization has shown me that design is not just good looks but is functionally.
When thinking about why type of app tp create for the program I had number of ideas. I wanted a combination of things all in one. For the last years I’ve flirted with the idea of being a full time vegan. So I wanted to create the app that I want for myself and something other vegans can enjoy. Vegan app are so niche with only a few decent apps out there. When to think of vegan apps what it the first thing that you think of? Food…??? Recipes…??? Does anything else come to mind? For me didn’t. I wanted to create something that is more that just a list of recipes. Tho recipes are important I want more out of my apps in 2018. I want to create something with recipes, news, discovery of restaurants & events, have social aspect, and original programing. Inter the Le- Pamp app your number one and only source for a vegan, vegetarian, and sustainable lifestyle . The app is design for the millennial users. I think that older user would find just a much use for the app if they live the lifestyle. The app to inspiration from another of app that I use on the daily bases. I know that it simple but I really enjoy the color scheme I chose. With the Le-Pamp app the user get curated news, easy recipes by professional chefs and other users, location of vegan restaurant and markets with ratings, and original programing such as cooking shows.
This is my start as designer now.
