for you, what is love?
“Masarap ‘to, tikman mo. Ay, maanghang nga pala. Hindi mo rin magugustuhan.”
Surely, some people would say, love is all about the intimate touches, the consistent physical proximity. Or rather, love is shown when someone serves you; providing you all the things you could ever ask for.
I, respectfully, beg to differ. While all of these truly deserve its praises and appreciation, love is not exclusive to those grandiose acts only. Hence, my strong standing with the statement “To be loved is to be considered”.
“Love” itself is an extensive word. It is inevitable that we do not all agree to one definition of it, if it really has any.
But there was this one specific utterance and suddenly, my outlook on love made a whole u-turn.
“Huwag mong lagyan ng hot sauce, hindi ‘yan mahilig sa maanghang.” ;)
Love knows no bounds. Love takes place in many forms, actions, words. For me, the peak of loving someone is when you start to pay intensive amount of attention to the details of their soul. To love is to think about the way things would affect the other. When you love someone, you hold them like they’re the most fragile person existing to date. When someone loves you, they make your well-being on top of their hierarchy of priorities.
When you love, you consider them when they’re on your sight, and more when they aren’t.
“No, she would like this more. It’s in the color pink.”
“She’s exhausted, let her nap for a short while.”
“Is it okay for you to talk about it?”
To be loved is to be considered; to be known; to be thought of; to be valued; to be respected; and whatnot. Such simplest ways to express, but the most genuine of them all.
Love truly, love deeply, love freely.
