Stay-At-Home Moms Are Going Extinct
Emily Glover

I am so pleased to see someone finally acknowledging that the boxes just don’t fit and the title doesn’t either. I’ve been a “stay at home mom” since my 19 year old was two. It was, like you, by “choice” after considering life’s many and multi-faceted realities — not the least of which was the best choice for care and raising my son and then, three years later, my daughter. Since your own mother was a working from home mom, as was mine — and I’m a baby boomer — it seems that it is not that the job of “SAHM” is going extinct, it seems it may never have truly fit the trope in the first place.
