The Play2Earn business model has caught the attention of millions of people and brought them into the metaverse, creating value from the time that users spend when interacting with the game.

What is Play2Earn?

The pure pay-to-play business model has been everywhere in the gaming industry for a long time, yet we are seeing a slow but sure movement towards a freemium model with the excellent examples of Apex Legends and Fortnite…

Switching to Play2Earn actually makes sense: letting the community generate value for itself by playing.

Blockchain fits this model perfectly as a key piece of the play-to-earn infrastructure, allowing the ownership and creation of digital assets to be as organic as if they were real-life objects, sometimes they are real-life physical objects, which is what ClubRare is creating!

What is ClubRare?

ClubRare is a luxury limited edition NFT marketplace allowing the owners of premium collectibles, such as handbags, watches, sneakers and other hard-to-find merchandise, to issue a Non-Fungible Token linked to the physical item.

Moreover, ClubRare opens the opportunity for collectors to bid on the NFTs dropped in the marketplace, then in case of auction winning they are given the NFT representing the physical item.

ClubRare’s model provides exposure to premium and rare items, the convenience of NFTs, and liquidity to collectors.

Large studios interested in the initiative

Activision has filed two patents concerning the exchange of assets and for a matchmaking system, Atari has launched the sale of its own token, Ubisoft is trying the experiment by supporting Nine Chronicles.

At the same time, it was the world of sport that seized the opportunity by experimenting with different projects using Non-Fungible Tokens. Turner Sport has created a golf game and aims to develop others with the Blocklete Games brand, the NBA has embarked on the collection of “moments” from different games with NBA Top Shot or even more than one hundred football clubs have signed an agreement with Sorare for the use of the image of their flagship players.
