Day 12

Leaving Lookout KY, we began our day with the intent of reaching the town of Hazard. At 72 miles away, it would be our furthest mileage yet. We conquered three or four tough climbs, I pepper sprayed a few more aggressive dogs hot on my tail, and at the end of the day, around 60 miles in, I found an amazing second wind. It is hard to describe that runners/cyclists high until it hits you. Even in a headwind going uphill I was keeping up with some cars (for a time) and felt like someone was pushing me from behind, like my dad used to when I was on training wheels. We arrived to Hazard and felt great.
