I appreciate the dissenting view, but completely disagree with you. To me, this piece reads like satire. Your intro paragraph characterizes men and women as if we were still living in caves.
I agree that women have tough choices, but don’t you think that some of the parenting responsibilities could / should be shared? It isn’t just a mother’s primary role in life to be a parent, but both spouses… right? Why is it that you assume only the mother has to make these though choices between family and career?
