KL City At Night

Sonnet inspired by William Wordsworth; “Composed from Westminster Bridge”

When the Sun goes down,

And the moon comes up,

The city comes to life.

The bare streets, bursting,

Buzzing with men and wives.

Wealthy businessmen in the bar,

Chocking down booze,

Shirts crumpled, hair rumpled,

Eyes on the lady who refused.

Housewives in the supermarket,

Shopping for loaves for breakfast the next day,

Children in the bedroom,

Dreaming the past away,

Until banished by the Sun,

And comes yet another day.
