Many of you have joined Threads, including me. While browsing, I found a challenge by Pranita Bajoria to create a Twitter ad using an AI-generated picture. Here’s how I approached it.

People were saying that Threads copied Twitter. This sparked ideas about conversations around cheating and copying — perfect for my ad concept! So, I visited Twitter’s “About” page to understand better what they’re all about: conversation.

Twitter is what’s happening and what people are talking about right now.
Twitter’s About Page

Inspired by this, my ad copy highlighted the ongoing talks about imitation in relation to Threads’ launch date on July 5th. But I wanted more than just words; design mattered too!

I used an online tweet generator where I inserted my copy along with the Twitter logo and username details. For extra relevance, likes, comments, and retweets were set at 5, 7, and 23 respectively as a nod to Threads’ launch date.

After generating the tweet, I used Canva to create the final design.

To sum up, my creative process was driven by understanding what makes Twitter unique — facilitating conversations since July 2006.

Key learning: Keep ads relatable to the brand that you’re writing for.
