Tech Tuesday: Tech, Pitching, and EarPods

This week’s theme is Apple’s EarPods and pitching tech. No matter if you’re a startup or a big company, you still need market buy-in.

1.Why Wearable Audio Computing?: Stop bemoaning the AirPods. Techies have been excited about the concept of audio computing for a long time. Don’t forget that audio is an interface, and humans are limited by the number of interfaces we have with computers. Read some of the old articles from the 90’s (links in the article) and get at least a little excited at the progress we’ve made! [MIT Media Lab]

2.Against Minimalism: A Plea for Cyberpunk: Hilarious and true. [Bullshitist]

3.Are Developmental Mistakes Essential to Evolution?: YES! And so are code, tech, and business development mistakes. One of my mentors used to say that the number of mistakes you make is correlated to the number of successes you’ll have. That’s how you evolve. [Big Questions Online]

4.The First VC Meeting: Since this week is about pitching, let’s get back to basics. This series is excellent advice for first-time and repeat fundraisers alike. Make sure to think about how you present yourself, and to display not just your strengths but also how you’re compensating for your weaknesses (especially if there are talent gaps to be filled later).
