Louisville, KY. This blog is meant to educate my user base with marketing strategies for web and mobile platforms.
4 Simple Steps. I am not an expert but one of my professional New Years Goals is to build my LinkedIn presence. Step number one is to appreciate the people in my established business network. When I didn’t find many resources online for writing steller LinkedIn recommendations I decided to write a “how-to” document myself.
Step 1. Read your colleague’s LinkedIn profile or resume
This task will help you understand how your colleague wants to be viewed and remembered. In the process, you may learn more about your colleague which will give you a deeper appreciation for their past performance and potential.
Step 2. Bullet point your colleague’s greatest traits
Don’t write more than 5 of the most defining characteristics. You want to be sincere when you write your description.
Step 3. Document examples of their exceptional work
Write 1 or 2 examples that display the impact your colleague has made on your company. You may want to write about your own personal growth through your interaction with your colleagues, but remember this post is about them, not YOU.
Step 4. Write your Recommendation
Line 1: List the top three traits
Line 2: Briefly describe who they are and how you know them.
Line 3 and 4: Write about the examples that highlight your colleague’s greatest traits. For best results, keep the statements relevant to your colleague’s brand image.
Line 5: Specifically state your recommend. (e.g. I recommend him as a project manager)
Positive. Empowering. Determined. Within her first 6 months at VSoft Amy Scott, V.P of Sales and Marketing, turned a group of IT staffing professional into a high-energy results-oriented team. Coming from the fast paced world of advertising, Amy demonstrates how exceptional leaders can succeed in any industry. Amy leads by example which has proven to motivate her team of diverse industry IT expertise to unlock their inner skills and reach even higher goals. I recommend Amy as a manager and mentor.
