Why go see this movie? This scence is played on our televisions every night, every day. We see it on our smart phones, tablets and laptops via social media. It is visible in our cities and towns on our highways, roads, streets and neighborhoods. I’ll be damned if I sit through another episode of Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, and Sandra Bland.
How could anyone think creating this movie was a good idea? Haven’t we been vicitmized enough! I refuse to watch old slave movies (except for D’Jango… you know why), “yassir” movies, gangster/gang/hood movies and the list goes on! Out of all the projects to green light, why would Ellison choose such a raw subject?
I hope this movie is out of the theaters within the month. It doesn’t deserve any acclaim.
