A spark of love in house flipping!

On December 14th, House Flipper 2 will debut, and this writer is not more excited. Who dreamed of crafting their dream home? With new features introduced through screenshots, footage, and the demo, including a Sandbox mode for creating your ideal home, House Flipper immerses you in home transformation without complex strategies or character customization. The original House Flipper retains its charm, making revisiting it a delightful experience. The indie simulation takes you through the entire house renovation, from cleaning up a mess to reaping high profits. As you step into the role of a one-person renovation crew, the possibilities are endless. Before debut, I wanted to share why I still enjoy the first House Flipper while happily awaiting the second one to drop.

Gaming Experience

If given the chance, there’s no way to truly convey the personal joy this game brings. It’s an experience best felt through play rather than mere words. Considering various personal experiences, I can break down House Flipper into three key aspects: it offers a stress-free gaming escape, keeps you engaged through satisfying progression, and provides creative freedom that extends to the vibrant modding community.

House Flipper is a single-player relaxing experience compared to multi-action-packed games like Starship Troopers and Cyberpunk, to name a few. Not everyone can come home after work tired and dive into a hard-focus game. Resting the mind can help the body and soul. You can get lost in the game without fearing the time before goals reset, events planned to end, or fighting the internet with lag. This is your pace, delight, way to begin, and how you want to say, “That’s enough” and stop playing. Most would stop at that dream home in-game; others would stop once game achievements were earned. The pace and decision freely lie with you.

Progression

House Flipper progression is different; instead of gathering points in ability, you have an amount of said task needed to do to gain a perk. Sounds no different, right? The only difference is natural progression compared to tasks that require you to grind out one task repeatedly.

Your mileage will vary depending on your tool of choice, but what seem slow in the beginning will speed up!

From the demolition of walls and installing curtains to painting walls in that cherry red you adore, it is a natural process that you wouldn’t be aware of until you got the notification and a chance to turn your focus to consuming less paint instead of painting three walls at once, to give such an example of personal experience. Your direction in the game is even optional. Starting, you are given ‘emails’ from people asking for your services, and completing them gives you money to save for your first sum to turn a profit with. You can either knock out more emails or turn to buying your first house-flipping experience.

Strongly suggest you read on some of these flipping projects, you will get a laugh out of it! (or more!)

Come across a house you want to keep for your personal pleasures. You can claim it by moving your office to the house in the menu.

Creativity

The only thing you cannot do (based on my collection as of this writing) is build on an already existing house. You are not limited in how far you want creativity to go.

Getting a little more personal with your choices!

Matching wood with the doors and floor, curtains in one shade of color to change, matching metals, even adding stickers to your refrigerator — there are more options than you can describe. The DLCs (downloadable content) further add a circle of flowers you color in a rainbow fashion with the ‘Gardens Flipper’, A studio apartment in the ‘Luxury Flipper’ you gave a pallet of fashion to and a home by the ocean you worked on to make a cozy lizard paradise for a character, Choosing between a theater or game theme room on HGTV, and this is without mentioning the two free expansions of Apocalypse and Cyberpunk.

From the amazing to the odd, you can count on a community to spice things up!

The Steam Workshop has a variety of items that are comical and fashionable to further give you creative freedom in having the home only seen in MTV Cribs. From your Steam library, when viewing House Flipper, you can access the workshop or, from the community tab, type House Flipper for an alternative route to reach the same area.

House Flipper 2 will without doubt take what was in the original game and amplify it with familiar tools and mechanics in a new light from visual sights, tasks, and even what will reveal about Pinnacove and the residents who reside. I am in no rush to see the game out earlier than it is intended because, knowing the crew of Frozen District is putting in their work to show us what they’re capable of, I will happily relax and enjoy the original game until then. House Flipper will keep offering that unique blend of relaxation and creative engagement.

(Besides, I still need to get that farming next sale to complete my collection!)
