● Memorial Day USA : Salute to Female Soldiers ~ My Sisters in Arms

Memorial Day in the United States is a federal holiday set aside to honor those who have died in military service. In my heart, it is not only a day to remember the fallen but to remember all who are still standing and serving fearlessly and faithfully — men and women. But especially the women.

Men go off to war.

Wives stay home with the kids and pray for daddy’s safe return.

Mothers wait patiently, hoping to see their sons again.

Isn’t that the way it is? Isn’t that tradition?

It was that way, once upon a time in America.

It’s not that way now. Not in the USA. Perhaps not in other countries as well.

Ever consider this?

If your country is constantly under siege and your men are always going off to war and getting themselves wounded or killed … sooner or later you’re going to run out of men!

What should the sisters do? Somebody has to defend the children!!

Which is WHY … I’m going to take this opportunity to say this ON BEHALF OF my sisters who have served or are serving in the military, in any country, around the world.

Please brothers. Don’t sexually assault them. Let them serve their country next to you, without fear. The real enemy is scary enough!!

It’s hard enough to face off with The Enemy and fight for family and country.

A woman should not have to concern herself with being sexually assaulted or raped by a “friendly”.

Why does pretty have to hurt?

At one time, sexual harassment in the military was a “hot button” topic being reported on daily in the media. Just because it’s not a major headline for front page news doesn’t mean the matter has been resolved and all is forgiven and forgotten. Stay tuned.

NOTE: I know there are those out there who will say that it’s not just women who are being assaulted and sexually harassed. Some of the victims are men. But of a truth, you know that there are far more women than men who are victims. That doesn’t make the act any less vile because the victim is male. But this article is for my sisters.
