Just Brewers Being Brewers

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of accompanying Brewers first baseman Eric Thames and pitchers Corey Knebel and Oliver Drake to MillerCoors where they had the chance to get into the science of beer as they worked with the longtime Brewers partner and supporter to create a limited release offering exclusive to Miller Park.

Since he joined the team this offseason, Thames has not been shy about his love of beer. And there’s no better city for Thames to be chasing his dreams — at the plate, and in searching for the perfect stein of suds.

Meanwhile, closer Corey Knebel claimed home brewing as a hobby even before he put on a Brewers uniform. And Oliver Drake’s favorite beers are currently Miller and Coors Light, so he was along for the ride looking to expand his beer knowledge and palate.

The trio spent the off-day touring the facility, tasting a variety of different offerings and developing a unique beer (an IPA) in the MillerCoors pilot brewery that will be served only at Miller Park for a very limited time later this season.

The beer’s name will be announced at a later date as fans will have an opportunity to sample the beer in a limited release run at Miller Park later this summer.
