Song Seok-rok, a professor at Kyungdong University who runs a series of columns on sports trends, gave a special lecture to Hongcheon FC Alpha generation soccer players at the Gangwon Student Sports Center Center Director Lee Ki-bok of the Gangwon-do Pyeongchang Education Promotion Agency on the 18th under the theme of “e-sports and metaverse.” About 40 Hongcheon FC players participated in the special lecture to understand the fun and system of e-sports and to answer questions.

Generation Alpha understands e-sports well. They are exposed to digital environments and are familiar with smart devices since birth. They are also the generation that understands Alexa rather than their mothers and fathers. If Generation MZ does not know unless they play e-sports, Generation Alpha is the generation that actively enjoys e-sports.

Professor Song diagnosed that the Alpha generation is a generation with active self-assertion and extensive basic knowledge of e-sports. In particular, he said, “athletes who exercise understand the connection between sports and e-sports in the physical environment, and they also distinguish the virtual world from the physical environment.” It is a generation that is surrounded by the metaverse environment and understands the meaning that the metaverse cannot replace all the real world and will serve as a complement.

Yoon Vitali first year of Hongcheon Middle School from Kazakhstan said, “It is an opportunity to solve a lot of questions about e-sports in the metaverse environment while playing soccer.” In addition, Kim Young-kwang second year of Hongcheon Middle School from Yanbian, China, said, “I grew up in China experiencing e-sports such as Wang Ji-young and discovered a new connection through learning about e-sports in Korea, the birthplace of e-sports.” 안전놀이터
