Yes, but I’m referring to the parts of the Farm Bill that directly subsidize agriculture… not a Soviet-style systemic takeover of food production.
Conservatives, Libertarians, and hyper-liberal food purists can argue against government involvement in food all they want; if the crop subsidies went away and people started having to pay the true market price for food, there’d be blood in every street in America.
