From Why Ramesh reminds me that healthcare consumerism is everywhere by Aakash Ganju

The last two decades have seen a shift in the dynamics of doctors’ consultation rooms. Patients are seeking information from doctors, families, social media, social networks, other patients and whatever source they may find. Informed patients have begun to push away on the paternalistic “I know best for you’ doctors and started making more informed choices (I wish more informed was always better informed, though that’s perhaps a topic to mull over next time).

From Practical tips on new habits, new year resolutions, and behaviours by Nikhil Jois

…bit hole. The Internet is filled with temptation and our brains are always hungry for dopamine hits. Be it scrolling down your Twitter or Instagram feed or watching high definition pornography, these are habits that alter the very nature of how your brain works. My attention span is very dear to me and I have no intention of losing it over trivial things. At the dining table, I want to respectful of my family and friends. If I’m talking to you while eating, I want to be able to give you and the the food as much attention as need be.
