Introduction

At CO2Network, our goal is to empower individuals to achieve personal net zero emissions and foster a green economy through our crowdfunding platform. As part of the Earth Day Event at our Seoul office, we launched United Net-Zero Nation initiative.
During this even, we showcased a comprehensive video that outlined the severe impacts of climate change and detailed several key reasons why the United Net-Zero Nation is crucial for our collective future.

Summary of the video

We have already surpassed the 1.5 degrees Celsius tipping point and can witness irreversible and inevitable catastrophic impacts of climate change throughout the world.
With climate change, extreme weather events have become everyday occurrences, which we can now perceive in every corner of planet Earth.
Around the Poles, the habitats of animals decreasing day by day, but that is not the only problem the melting ice is posing to our planet, the rising sea level also exposing every corner of our planet to high risks.
Based on the predictions by Climate Central, if we do not significantly reduce our pollution, the rising sea levels will cause daunting problems in most cities worldwide.

Climate change not only exacerbates extreme weather events and accelerates polar ice melt but also leads to other severe ecological and social repercussions globally.
It significantly impacts agricultural productivity due to erratic rainfall patterns, extreme temperatures, and increased incidents of pests and diseases, leading to threaten food security worldwide, especially in regions dependent on agriculture for livelihood and sustenance.

Another urgent problem caused by climate change is the growing number of severe wildfires. Like melting ice, wildfires pose a major problem not only to wildlife and their habitats but also to human lives and properties. These fires are increasingly fueled by drier conditions and higher temperatures, conditions that climate change is making more common across the globe. As the world warms at unprecedented rates, we are witnessing wildfires that are not only more frequent but also more intense and difficult to control.

As we move forward, it is crucial to understand that tackling climate change is not just an environmental challenge but a multidimensional threat that involves economic, social, and political issues.
Through initiatives like United Net-Zero Nation, we aim not only to mitigate the impacts of climate change but also to drive forward a global movement towards a resilient and adaptive society. Our commitment on this Earth Day is to ensure that every individual can participate in making a difference, fostering a culture of sustainability that can withstand and adapt to the inevitable changes our planet faces.
