What are we doing today?

Grades K-3 : Pin Guard

This game can help students develop their hand-eye coordination, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills.

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Students will divide into two sections, each on opposite sides of the hula hoops in the middle of the play area. Bowling pins will be placed inside the hula hoops.
  2. There will be 2 roles: the THROWER and the GUARD.
  3. The THROWERS will have to stay behind the designated line and try to knock down the pins with a dodgeball.
  4. The GUARDS have to stay around the hula hoops, not inside, and try to block the dodgeballs from knocking over their pins.
  5. The guard must try to block the dodgeball with their hands or any other part of their body, without crossing the hula hoop boundary. They cannot pick up the dodgeball.
  6. If a guard’s pin is knocked over, they switch roles with the thrower who knocked the pin over.

DEMONSTRATION:

SAFETY MEASURES

  1. Students should always aim for the bowling pins and avoid throwing the dodgeball at other students.
  2. Students should stay behind the designated throwing line and avoid stepping over it.
  3. Students should not run or jump over the hula hoops, as this can lead to tripping and injury.
  4. Students should report any injuries or safety concerns to the teacher or supervisor immediately.
