I’m a life coach in 2023, so I have to use plenty of metaphors. It’s a rule. I don’t question it.

And my absolute favorite one is building the plane while flying it. It’s a metaphor that perfectly captures the essence of starting something new without having all the details figured out. Sometimes, you just have to jump in and figure things out as you go.

Sure, it can be scary not to have a complete roadmap, but with practice, it can be incredibly liberating. Making changes and adjustments along the way can lead to unexpected opportunities and growth.

So, if you’re considering starting something new, whether it’s a business, a project, or a personal goal, here are a few reasons why you should consider this approach to your next big thing:

You’ll get started faster

If you’re a perfectionist, you may spend weeks or months planning and strategizing before taking any action. But by approaching everything as an experiment, you can get started right away. You don’t need to have all the answers; you just need to make an educated guess and start flying.
