Interestingly it’s pretty hard to tell who has made their money fairly, and who hasn’t. I think the moral spectrum of “fair” wealth creation is so divisive that a broad brush approach is applied. Add that to the idea that anyone with an “abundance” of money should immediately become altruistic, you can see where the negative bias comes from. There are cultural aspects too, I’m pretty sure the US have a far more sympathetic view than even Western Europe.

It’s a very intriguing topic, and not easy to tackle, so well done.
