As one of the consultants in the CoAlpha project, Matt Cushman has 15 years of automated, quantitative proprietary trading experience with leadership positions at Knight, Citadel and Engineers Gate. Now he is the CEO and founder of eTale, a virtual money technology company.
Matt Cushman led team of 40 quantitative researchers and traders at Knight Capital Group. He was responsible for all automated principal trading at the firm, including automating Knight’s market making capability. He created five hundred million annual revenue for the company.
In June 2018, Mr. Matt Cushman was invited to become a consultant of CoAlpha. Owing to Mr. Pang Chau, a former partner of Knight Capital, had joined the advisory team before, James Wang wrote on his social media, “ One more person of the “Three Swordsmen in Knight Capital”,it’ll be complete! We’re different than some other blockchain projects. Real people. Real work!” It is said that the three Knight Capital swordsmen are Mr. Matt Cushman, Mr. Jamil Nazarali and Mr. Pang Chau.
Matt Cushman is one partner of former top hedge fund Castle capital. He has launched a quantitative proprietary trading team at Castle Capital to help revitalize the castle capital’s marketer services. Matt Cushman has developed the team into the largest traffic marketer in the United States in three years since the creation of the Traffic Market Team in 2011.
In addition, Matt Cushman is the founder and CEO of New York-based quantitative hedge fund Engineers Gate. The company is a broker dealing in short-term automatic quantification of U.S. and Canadian stocks. Other partners include Wall Street legend Paul Tudor Jones.
Although Matt Cushman is a well-known Wall Street businessman who has worked in the field of economics and finance for many years, but he is also rooted in academia and has profound academic attainments. He has a PhD in mathematics at the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in mathematics and philosophy at Carnegie Mellon University. He also minors in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University.
