It is currently a difficult situation facing individuals, families, businesses and the global community with the COVID-19 epidemic. As a local tour operator, we pride ourselves on offering innovative coastal interactions and experiences. During the past week, we have continued to showcase our beautiful coastline to guests who chose to travel with us (while allowing for increased precautions to keep everyone safe).
Following the advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) individuals are required to practice social distancing in order to flatten the curve and protect our community as well as soften the impact on our health system. We all have a responsibility to play our part in combatting this global pandemic.
In light of this situation, as well as the restrictions on travel, we have made the difficult (but necessary) decision to temporarily postpone our ocean touring business as of today. Keeping in mind the health and wellbeing of our guests is our number one priority. This change to our operations will be in effect until the end of APRIL, with the plan to reassess as that date nears closer. We love nothing more than providing authentic nature-based experiences in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, but right now, the right thing to do to keep everyone safe, is to stop for a while.
I would like to thank each and every one of our customers over the past two years, as all that CoastXP is today, would not have been possible without your support! At this point in time, we are contacting each of our customers who have bookings up to the end of April, to inform them of the current situation, while prioritising those whose tours will be impacted first.
All local businesses will require our support in the coming days, weeks and months. I encourage you to support your community, even from afar, including purchasing goods delivered to your door or making purchases online, because every time you support a small local business, that is supporting a family close to you. During our break, we will continue to share some of our favourite Hunter Coastal destinations through our social media channels, as well as continue our regular blog on things to do and places to visit around Newcastle and the Hunter.
