Panel Session discusses Social Media Etiquette

The Innovare Social Media Summit 360 at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City just ended and we are still reeling from all the wonderful talks that took place. As event partners, we were excited to be a part of the maiden edition in telling the story around African businesses and social media marketing.

The intent behind organizing the Social Media Summit 360 is to give Ghanaian corporate entities the chance to learn more about utilizing social media tools and strategies for more impact and engagement with clients and future prospects. The summit brought together social media and marketing experts like Professor Robert Ebo Hinson of the University of Ghana, Kofi Mante Asamoah of Alphatech Ghana, Philip Kofi Ashon from Citi Fm 07.3 Estelle Akofio-Sowah,from Google Ghana, Esther Amba Cobbah of Stratcomm Africa as well Jemila Abdulai from Circumspecte together for an educative and insightful use of avenues social media platforms have opened to us. There were a number of takeaways from all who spoke.

Yours truly, The Cobalt Partners’ Afia K. Owusu-Nyantakyi and Edem Torkornoo in one session, spoke about understanding personas as part of a Social Media Strategies. They stressed on the importance of gauging a target audience accurately. The tag team explained that creating fictional characters with probable interests, backgrounds, lifestyles, demographics, frustrations, and habits can help give companies that types of people who could potentially be interested in services.

This tied perfectly into Citi Fm’s Operations Manager, Phillip Ashon’s rhetoric about planning, nurturing, investing time and money into social media initiatives and campaigns.
