Treasure leads to responsible design

Post war design heritage today

Do you know Finland had to spend 300,000,000 euros to get over from the world war?

Each capita has to pay 75 for the war reparation, much higher than other countries like Italy.

For that reason, Finnish people come up with many ideas to make use of materials to the fullest, because they are so lack of them and so cherish them. There is no doubt that many smart structure of furnitures, functional products with minimal and aesthetical designs are produced from this small country.

I think the heart of treasure may be the best thing people can have when they innovate and create. With the respect of nature, mercy for the lives, people will not utilize resources as much as they can for satisfaction, but to create something that are timeless worthwhile. With that belief in mind, people would give the best value to materials they have without any waste.

It really make me think about the market and consumption nowadays. No wonder we are having more simulating products today than ever before. However, do we really cherish what we have? How long will we keep a coat we just bought from a fast fashion retail? What we have done to the environment with the large amount of industrial waste? I think people really need to slow down their pace, limit their desire, and give value and respect to what we have already on this planet.
