About this blog
My reason for strating this blog might sound a little strange, but I got thinking about how there are group thearpy sessions for so many different kinds of addiction (not that I am trying to compare anyone here to an addict!) but not for mental illness (unless you are hospitalized). I really like the generell concept of a a group of people comming together in a place where they feel safe in the knowledge that nobody will judge them and even more important poeple will understand what they aregoing through because they have experienced the same or similiar feelings.
The biggest issue about mental health problems is that people having them are too scared or ashamed to talk about them. That leads to isolation and makes the already existing problems even worse. The fear of not being understood or taken seriously or simply being treated differently because of metal illness can be extremly overwhelming.
That is why I want this blog to be a shared space for people to feel safe and accepted and share their feelings and thoughts with others. Even if you don’t feel like sharing anything yourself, but you find one post on this blog that makes you in some way feel conected and less alone, then this blog is fullfilling its purpose.
thank you very much for taking the time to read through my little rant and I hope you will check back in with me at some point and maybe leave some of your own thoughts and feelings behind.
