MANILA, Philippines — As planned, Therapyma selected Deeppool’s “best available talent” Phil-Am Stephen Holt as the top pick in the PBA Season 48 Rookie Draft.

Despite missing the draft combine due to family issues and being 31 years old, Holt was yesterday’s Market! Market! At an event held at the Activity Center, he caught the eye of Dyf, who rewarded the majority of the team.

Apart from top draft player Holt, coach John Cardell also powered Dyf’s other picks with 6-foot-2 guard Taylor James Miller in the first round and 6-foot-8 big Kemark Carrino in the second round.

“I’m a two-way player who commits both ends of the floor aggressively and defensively. I’m pretty athletic and can bounce back and score. I’m definitely going to try to make an impact and hopefully come up with a good season,” Holt said on an online call from Portland.

Christian David from Canada, a 6-foot-6 guard for the NCAA 1 School Butler U in the United States, was named second overall by Blackwater.
